about

Inspired by the sights and sounds of Bróna's immediate surrounds including Kilbroney Park, which was always known as 'the meadow' when she was growing up in Rostrevor. The monkey-puzzle tree mentioned in the song was recently struck by lightning and had to be cut down, but the oak tree is still standing

lyrics

Sitting on my doorstep as the mist is slowly rising from the shore
Morning she has broken and her dappled shadows fall around my door

And the mountains are obscured by clouds
I can feel you everywhere around

You are laughing in the meadow as you run around the monkey-puzzle tree
The great old oak stands silent as we squirrel up her acorns underneath

She has been here for a thousand years
And she’s watching as we face our fears

She has been here

As The Guardian describes it “You’re put in the place of a bird navigating wide open landscapes, absorbing light, space and air. This is music that takes you on its wing, and gives you fresh visions” ... more
