Outsiders

about

After reading a book by Irwin Chusid called Songs in the Key of Z, Brona was inspired to write this anthem for outsider musicians. She was particularly inspired by Bingo Gazingo and Harry Partch.

lyrics

Outsiders don't look into rooms
Where normal people live
They can access resources
From other-worldly sources
In an other-worldly way

Outsiders are described
In light years from reality
They get labelled
Disfunctional in our society
Because they're unconventional

What are we gonna do
When everything's said and done?
Maybe we'll have to go outside

Whoever writes the rules
Can play the game
Whoever wins the first round
Starts again
And so the cycle
Of the rat race runs
But when we reach
The last round
Who has won?
Who has won?

This is music that takes you on its wing, and gives you fresh visions” ... more
